As figures published by Statistik Austria show, Italy remains by far the most important foreign market, with a trade volume of 117,548 m³ and an 11% decrease compared to the first two months of 2024. Germany follows in second place with an increase of 39% to 52,647 m³. Switzerland, France and Spain are also important buyers of Austrian laminated timber. An upward trend can be observed in deliveries to Switzerland (+7%) and Spain (+10%), whereas exports to France decreased by 12%.
Exports to Poland and Croatia stand out with a dynamic development, albeit at a lower level in terms of volumes. According to Statistik Austria, the two countries respectively increased their purchases by 170% to 3,920 m³ and by 147% to 3,436 m³. Shipments to Japan, on the other hand, were down by 14%, and a marked decrease of 26% was also recorded in deliveries to other countries.
