For the Austrian Federal Forests (ÖBf), 2023 was a successful financial year and the first year with Andreas Gruber as a member of the board. The market was volatile, with a strong start to the year, low demand in the second quarter, which led to prices falling by up to €30/m³, and price increases at the end of the year. Nevertheless, the company was able to maintain its harvest volume constant at around 1 million m³ of sawlogs.
