After the Chinese imposing retaliating measures against US products, the US administration has broadened the types of goods caught up in the trade emerging war between the countries. The new tariff list now also includes a number of consumer products as well as building supplies, such as plywood and floor panels, politico.com reports.

Last week the US administration had imposed a 25% tariff on $34 billion worth of imports China. It is also poised to impose another round of 25% duties on an additional $16 billion worth of Chinese goods as early as August. All in all, the tariff list has products valued at  $200 billion. Experts – even among Republicans – are warning that the trade conflict will sooner or later backfire on the American economy. Retailers warned that consumers were certain to feel the impact of the new duties, once they are in force.
