German manufacturer of prefabricated houses Kampa will officially open its new office building "K8" in Aalen/DE on 23 April – an eight-story wooden structure of the PlusEnergy standard. The construction which Kampa describes as "Bauinnovationszentrum" (center of innovative building) serves as the company's new headquarters and will accommodate offices and rooms for exhibition, information and training.
The new company center is to be considered as forward-looking model example for energy self-sufficient building. The prefabricated home manufacturer has also confirmed to be using the PlusEnergy concept as a standard for its houses.
In the first quarter, the construction of 46,100 new housing units was permitted in Germany. This corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 4.1%.
