The fresh smell of sawdust is in the air, the engines are humming and the chains are rotating at breakneck speed. What makes the Austrian forestry trade fair AUSTROFOMA so attractive for exhibitors and visitors is that the forestry machines are shown in practical use. The focus is on harvesting the wood in a way that is gentle for both people and nature. The aim is to show visitors how the various forestry machines and systems are built, how they work and which services they can provide. A special highlight is the log harvest in steep terrain – a unique selling point that sets AUSTROFOMA apart from other forestry trade fairs and attracts visitors from far beyond Austria’s borders.

Many exhibitors expected

Around 150 exhibitors have already registered. They will present their products and solutions for all aspects of climate-friendly forest management along the approximately 4.5 km-long exhibition trail. In the AUSTROFOMA village, visitors can examine the products of a wide range of forestry service providers and machine manufacturers. Of course, educational institutions will also be present at the fair and will inform visitors about their wide range of training and further education programs. Last but not least, other organizations which are relevant to forestry, such as PEFC-Austria, can also present themselves. Thanks to this diversity of providers, the Austrian Chambers of Agriculture are able to provide visitors with a comprehensive and well-rounded offer of information. The Styrian Chamber of Agriculture is responsible for organizing the 2023 edition of the AUSTROFOMA fair and has found a highly motivated and versatile partner in ÖBf AG.

Buying tickets online pays off

As with the last edition of AUSTROFOMA, it is possible to buy tickets online and in advance. Spontaneous visitors can save a lot of money with this option. In pre-sale, one ticket costs €70. At the ticket office at the fairgrounds, visitors have to pay €95. The ticket price includes use of the lifts, a safety helmet and the AUSTROFOMA catalogue, which for the first time will not be available in printed but in digital form. In addition to a list of all exhibitors, the catalogue contains valuable information about cost rates and various calculations regarding the individual forestry machines and systems. This information can be used to help visitors with their own calculations of costs.
