The Romanian sawmills of the Schweighofer group have been inspected according to the directives of the EU timber regulation (EUTR) several times over the past few years. For all of the cases, authorities confirmed that the due diligence system meets both the EUTR requirements as well as Romanian law, the enterprise informs.

Schweighofer was very pleased with the results and emphasized that they will continue the dialogue with environmental organizations. After accusations concerning the processing of illegal timber, the company now presented a catalogue of measures for securing sustainable forestry in Romania.
