In May, Austrian pellet prices decreased both month on month and year on year. This is according to proPellets Austria.

In May, 6 t of loose, A1-quality pellets cost €286.5 according to proPellets Austria. Compared to April, the price fell by 1.4%. Year on year, a decrease of 14.9% is recorded. The pellet price index PPI06 is at 161.12 in May. According to the association, heating oil is 102.6% more expensive than wood pellets, while the price of natural gas is 179.8% higher.

The price for a purchase quantity of 17 t (industry) is at €246/t in May (-2.3% compared to April; -14.3% compared to May 2023). As for bagged pellets, proPellets Austria identified a price of €5.09 per 15-kg bag. Month on month, the price fell by 3.6%. Year on year, it decreased by 15.2%.
