SCA Timber is investing SEK 50 million (around € 5 million) in its planing mill in Tunadal, Sundsvall/SE. The investment will enable the planing mill to increase its productivity and will also create the conditions required for enabling continued product development, according to SCA Timber. "We are investing in a new intake for raw materials, a new splitting line and a new packaging line”, says Markus Henningsson, Manager of SCA Timber Supply Skandinavia. It remains yet undisclosed as to who will supply the machinery. Among the new products announced to be manufactured in Tunadal soon are exterior cladding made of Norrland-wood and pine heartwood decking with concealed fitting providing natural protection against rot.

In parallel with the investment, SCA Timber is also launching the SmartTimber added value concept for the building merchants in Scandinavia. The concept involves new and innovative products and services, intended primarily for customers from the professional building trade.
