Whether it be at the Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi/RU, at the World Exhibition in Milan/IT 2015 or in Rio/BR 2016: Over the next few years, Switzerland will present itself at numerous international events in order to lend more gravity to its interests – to the general public, the media and to decision makers alike. Therefore, Presence Switzerland, Bern/CH, decided to develop a Swiss Mobile House as a creative and flexible mobile "vessel" for public diplomacy which can be used multiple times to represent the interests of Switzerland in a creative and flexible way.

The Swiss Mobile House consists of four large houses with a total area of 730 m². By selecting the architectural firm Spillmann Echsle, Zurich/CH, to design the wooden palais, presence Switzerland intended to provide for an attraction that combines tradition with contemporary Swiss architecture and design. The Swiss Mobile House is a complex of wooden buildings design of which is inspired by the chalets in the Alps. The silhouette, however, should represent the modernity of contemporary Swiss architecture.

All elements were manufactured with Swiss wood in Switzerland. "This wooden building with its simple, direct ornaments ideally embodies the ambitious modesty, which are the value base of our country", says Nicolas Bideau. The Swiss Mobile House will begin its journey to the Olympic Winter Games and between February 7 and 23, 2014 will be located in the middle of the Olympic Park in Sochi. Subsequently, one module of the house will be transferred to Italy, where from May 1 to 10, 2014 it will serve as the center of the Milanese stage of Giro del Gusto. This is followed by stations in Rome and Turin. The communication campaign in Italy is the first step of the Swiss presence in view of the World Expo 2015 in Milan which is dedicated to the subject of nutrition.
