The most significant step was the takeover of the BSW Group in Great Britain. Shortly after the closing of the transaction, CEO Reinhard Binder announced a planned increase in sales to €2.6 billion in 2022. With sales growing by €1.1 billion, Binderholz reached this target almost exactly twelve months later. Also, the company’s sales now nearly amount to the combined sales of Mayr-Melnhof Holz, the Pfeifer Group and Hasslacher.

Another remarkable development is the doubling of the group’s total assets to €2.5 billion (+87%) in 2022 as a result of the acquisition of BSW. This value exceeds the cumulated total assets of all other companies.

The exact costs of the takeover of the BSW Group are not known. However, Binderholz’s liabilities rising by €626 million to €867 million indicates the approximate purchase price. Binderholz’s earnings before taxes (EBT) doubled from 2020 to 2021. In the following year, in 2022, it remained nearly constant at €440 million (-1%).
