Last month, prices rose again to a level of €385 to €410/m³. In May, producers are mostly anticipating a sideways trend. Attempts to further raise prices have largely failed so far, according to market participants.
Dry raw bars are currently sold for €295 to €310/m³, most of them for €300/m³ or more. Buyers and sellers alike are expecting those prices to remain constant in May. While raw material supply is not currently an issue, the industry is looking ahead to the coming months with concern. According to some market participants, solid structural timber production output will largely depend on the availability of log wood, rather than being determined by demand.
