In Lieksa, the company wants to invest in a new planing plant, a plant for the thermal treatment of wood and in the lumber drying capacity of the site. According to Yle, these measures are going to raise the processing capacity (planed timber and glulam) of the Lieksa sawmill to 360,000 m³. Currently, 150,000 m³ are processed each year.

With the expansion of the Nurmes production site, the overall investment amounts to €90 million, as Yle reports. Binderholz currently employs around 300 people in north Karelia.
