Laminated timber imports up

From January to July, Japan imported 593,000 m³ of laminated timber. Year on year, this corresponds to an increase of 17%. Volumes imported from Finland rose by 25% to 234,000 m³, those from Romania grew by 28% bringing the total to 112,000 m³. Shipments from Austria increased by 9% to 73,000 m³, while those from Russia were up by 10% and reached 46,000 m³.

Japan bought less laminated timber from Estonia (36,700 m³; -2%) and Poland (23,000 m³; -22%) compared to the first seven months of 2019. The development of imports from Germany is remarkable: 10,000 m³ correspond to an 18% increase.
