The European Federation of the Parquet Industry (FEP) reported on a positive development in most European countries. Even though sales numbers in the 1Q had not been excellent, compared to the 1Q of 2015, the market grew in most countries, as the association informed in a press release.

In Austria, sales increased by 2 to 3% despite dampened activity on the private housing construction market. A similar increase was observed for France (+3%), Germany (+3%), the Baltic countries (+2%), the Netherlands (+2%), Poland (+2%) and Sweden (+2%). Furthermore, Italy (+1 to 2%) as well as Denmark were able to boost sales.

FEP reported declines in Norway (-4%), Switzerland (-2%) and Russia. The strongest drop in sales took place in Finland with -5 to 10%.
