On a related note, the Italian association of woodworking machine manufacturers Acimall is celebrating 50 years of representing its members' interests. President Lorenzo Primultini emphasized the importance Italian woodworking machine manufacturers from a global perspective. In spite of the economic crisis in Italy, they are responsible for 18% of the global production and generate a turnover of € 1.8 billion/yr. Last year, the sector was growing continuously. As for 2016, Primultini is expecting yet another sales increase of 5 to 10%. Increased exports to North America are expected to compensate for the sluggish business in Russia and subdued dynamics on the Chinese market with ease.
The machinery trade fair Xylexpo and the international furnishing accessories exhibition Salone del Mobile will be cooperating for the first time this year. Both parties are planning on making this intertwining of the Italian machinery and furnishing industries a long-lasting and tight one.
