Theurl offers comprehensive services and special solutions depending on the requirements of the respective construction project. Regardless of whether ceiling elements are to remain visible, large spans are required or a higher standard of sound insulation is necessary – Theurl has the optimal solution for every timber construction project. This is impressively demonstrated by the Leopoldquartier flagship project in Vienna. Here, over 2,400 m³ of hybrid wooden components consisting of CLTPlus elements were used to form the wood-concrete composite ceiling. The wood-concrete composite elements were prefabricated and assembled by Oberndorfer Hybrid Systems. Advantages included the quick assembly, the pleasant visible wooden surface and the thermal mass.

CLTPlus elements are also used for the production of ribbed ceilings. These are a sensible and economical choice wherever large spans are required. Thanks to the screw-press bonding of glulam and CLTPlus components, the resulting construction elements have a high load-bearing capacity despite their low dead weight.

The TS3 connection technology makes it possible to use CLTPlus elements to build skeleton structures without the need for joists. Front-side joint casting creates support grids of up to 8 by 8 m. This technology has already been used in many projects. One of them is a residential building on Zelgstrasse in the Swiss municipality of Uster. As a licensed partner, Theurl supplies around 3,700 m³ of floor slabs, which are pre-treated in the factory before being connected on site using the TS3 technology.
Efficient construction with ceiling elements
Thanks to the weather-independent production of the large-format, joined ceiling elements in Theurl’s CLT plant, shell structures of buildings can be erected in a short time. In the early project phase, close coordination between the customer, the timber construction company, production and logistics is essential.
