Housing starts see a double-digit decrease

In January and February 2020, housing construction starts fell by 11% year on year to 123,446 starts.

The Japanese statistical office reports 60,341 housing construction starts in January and 63,105 in February (+5% month on month). Compared to the same months of 2019, housing construction starts decreased by 10% in January and by 12% in February.
