In total, 3224 houses were built last year, 666 of which abroad. This level is only slightly below the level of 2011 – the best year of the past ten years. Turnover totaled €702 million which is 0.43% more than in 2017.

For the current year, prefab house manufacturers are not quite as optimistic as for 2018. 50% of surveyed members of the Austrian Association of Prefabricated Housing anticipate a "positive" development – no-one, however, assessed the situation as "very positive". Last year, it had still been 27% who were "very positive" about the sector's future.

These figures were presented in the course of a press conference by the Austrian Association of Prefabricated Housing on the 22nd of March.
