The foundation's goal is to support non-commercial purposes in the field of sustainable building, with a special focus on timber construction. Especially science and research as well as trainings, skill enhancement and continuing education are promoted. Further plans include awarding scholarships for research efforts as well as public offers of rewards for applied successes or theoretical work in the field of sustainable building. The foundation's share capital comes from the association Forum-Holzbau, the German federal association for prefabricated construction as well as the Swiss association for certified quality houses. In 2018, the financing will be restructured in order to secure the foundation with contributions from the foundation members and companies as well as independent benefactors and donators.
