Lumber price index with a further increase

In February, the Swedish lumber price index rose by 1.4 percentage points month on month to 148.1%. Since December 2023, the price index has gained nearly 20%.

Statistics Sweden reported an index value of 124% for the month of December 2023 (base: 2020 = 100%). Since then, it has been rising month after month and by a cumulative 24.1 percentage points until February 2025. Year on year (February 2024: 129.6%), an increase of 18.5 percentage points was recorded.

In February 2023, the lumber price index was at 123.6% (+24.5 percentage points) and in the same month of 2022, an index value of 159.7% (-11.6 percentage points) was reported.
