The Federal Statistical Office Destatis reports a softwood lumber production volume of 5.63 million m³ for the third quarter of 2024. Compared to the second quarter of 2024, this corresponds to a 3.4% decrease. Year on year, output increased slightly by 1.3%.
From January to September 2024, around 17.2 million m³ of softwood lumber were produced in Germany. Year on year, output decreased by 1.8% or 309,000 m³. According to Destatis, the biggest volume of softwood lumber ever produced in the first three quarters of a year was recorded in 2021 at 19.72 million m³.
