According to Madison’s Lumber Reporter, 2-by-4 softwood lumber (Western SPF, KD, #2 & better) cost US-$364/1,000 bft in the US at the end of last week. Compared to the week before, this corresponds to a decrease of US-$16/1,000 bft (Note: The price for week 10 was corrected to US-$380/1,000 bft by Madison’s Lumber Reporter).

Converted into euros and actual size, European suppliers earned €215/m³ free arrival in the Great Lakes region. For comparison: Last year, they received €817/m³.

The Lumber Futures for May are traded for around US-$432/1,000 bft, which would be €256/m³ if the current euro-dollar exchange rate remains the same.
