Finland’s biggest sawmill company saw its profits increase five-fold last year.

According to news platform kauppalehti.fi, Versowood, Finland’s biggest private sawmill company, saw its sales grow substantially, from €465.2 million in 2020 to €656.2 million last year. Operating profit totaled €190.8 million in 2021. Compared to the year before, when €40.4 million in operating profit had been recorded, it nearly quintupled. The price increases for customers, which were possible because of strong customer demand, are said to be the reason for this positive development.
