Decrease in Russian lumber exports

From January to August, Russia exported 20 million m³ of softwood lumber and planed timber, recording a 5% decrease compared to the same period of last year.

Shipments to China fell by 13% to 10.7 million m³, while those to Uzbekistan decreased by 18%, bringing the total to only 1.46 million m³. Increases were recorded in Russian exports to Azerbaijan (724,000 m³; +5%), Estonia (700,000 m³; +49%) and Egypt (688,000 m³; +23%).
