German sawmill industry with record sales

March sales up by 30% compared to the previous record month

In the first quarter of 2021, the German sawmill industry recorded sales worth €1.5 billion, which is a 30% increase compared to the same quarter of 2020.

In March, sales amounted to €622 million. It is the highest monthly value since Destatis records began in 2005. Sales also exceeded the previous record month (November 2020) by as many as 30%.

The current market development gives reason to expect that this record has already been beaten again in April.
