Already at the end of 2020, Holzkurier reported about the ambitious plans of the “Timber company of the year 2021”, the Ziegler Group. In the coming years, the company wants to invest € 220 million in a production facility for prefabricated houses including an administrative area and a model home park in Tirschenreuth in Upper Palatinate.
Now, the company has made further details public:
In Tirschenreuth, two CLT production lines, each with an annual capacity of 75,000 m³, and a house production line for up to 3000 houses a year are to be built. The development plan procedure is to be largely completed in 2021, the most important point being the study on nature conservation aspects. According to the company, construction will start promptly after a positive decision. The timber construction competence center in Tirschenreuth is to become an example of a sustainable production site.
In addition, Ziegler Group is going to build an insulating fiber board plant in Bärnau/DE. From mid-2021, a production site with an annual capacity of 500,000 m³ of insulation fiber boards will be built on a 12 hectare-big site. According to the company, the plant will be equipped in such a flexible way that soft and hard fiber boards as well as flexible blow-in insulation can be produced. The investment volume is € 85 million, and production is to start in the fourth quarter of 2022.
In the coming two weeks, holzkurier.com will present new constructions and changes to existing sites in Central Europe. Ziegler Group is the number one in terms of investments until 2023.
