US prices continue their downswing

US softwood lumber prices saw yet another downward slide last week. Assortment 2-by4 (free Great Lakes region) ranged US-$23/1000 bft below last week's value totaling US-$422/1000 bft.

For European suppliers, this resulted in a minus of €16/m³ at a price level of €236/m³ compared to the previous week. Year-on-year, the price lost €64/m³; in comparison to the annual peak price from May, the price level dropped by €164/m³.
