Compared to the 3Q in 2014, the Finnish lumber volume declined 3% to 2.4 million m³, as the Finnish Forest Industries Federation (FFIF) reports.

The cardboard sector reached 720,000 t, thus it remained on last year's level. The pulp volume also dropped by 3% to 1.7 million t, and paper production fell 4% (1.8 million t).

In comparison to the first eight months of 2014 however, pulp and cardboard production rose 1% and 3% respectively since the beginning of the year. Softwood lumber saw a decline of 4%, paper was reduced by 3%.

According to EOS president Sampsa J. Auvinen, Finland is the country with the biggest output reduction, as Sampsa reported on the International Softwood Lumber Conference (refer to link).
