The General Assembly of the Brussels-based European Organisation of the Sawmill Industry EOS that met in Vienna last week, unanimously elected Sampsa Auvinen, CEO of Norvik Timber Industries headquartered in Latvia, as EOS-president for a 2-year term. Christoph Kulterer, CEO and owner of the Austrian Hasslacher Norica Timber group and Joel Lefebvre, Managing Director of the France-based Lefebvre Group were elected as vice-presidents responsible for softwood and hardwood matters, respectively.

The EOS represents the interests of the sawmill industries from 13 European countries on the European and international level which produce about 77% of the total European sawn wood output.
