Responsibilities of the executive board within the Schweighofer Private Foundation, Vienna/AT, are being rearranged. Dr. Georg Erlacher, long-time CEO of the Austrian Federal Forests (ÖBf), will chair the Schweighofer Foundation’s board of directors in the future and thus enhance the profile of the operational management at Schweighofer, the company reports. In particular, he is responsible for the operational and strategic link between the companies of the Schweighofer Group and the Schweighofer Foundation. His agenda will mainly include forestry, energy, human resources, communications and investments. "We are delighted", says the group’s CEO Gerald Schweighofer, "to have won such a reputable and experienced person such as Georg Erlacher for this position."
Before working for the ÖBf, the graduate forest engineer already held leading positions at Holzindustrie Schweighofer. Between 2001 and 2014, Erlacher was chairman of the board at ÖBf. His term as CEO at the Austrian Federal Forests ends on 31 March 2015.
The Schweighofer Foundation was established in 1997 by the wood industrialist family Schweighofer. The Schweighofer Group today employs about 3,000 people. In 2015, the group’s turnover is expected to exceed the 1 billion-mark for the first time.
