Log price index with the biggest increase in twelve months

In January, the log price index stood at 190.18% (base: January 2001 = 100%). Compared to the previous month, the index value rose by 8.16 percentage points – which marks the biggest increase of the past twelve months. Year on year (January 2025: 158.26%), the log price index gained 31.92 percentage points. In fact, it increased uninterruptedly over the past year.

The lumber price index rose by 3 percentage points, from 186.86% in December 2025 to 189.93% in January 2026. In the same month in 2025, the index stood at 163.47% and was thus 26.46 percentage points lower than a year later. With the exception of July and September, the lumber price index has risen steadily over the past twelve months.
