In the first eight months, German beech log exports to China amounted to 194,000 m³ and were thus down by 11%. In contrast, deliveries to neighboring countries increased substantially:
- Austria: 150,000 m³ (+7%)
- Denmark: 46,000 m³ (+54%)
- Belgium: 38,000 m³ (+1,233%)
- France: 11,000 m³ (+84%)
- Netherlands: 8,500 m³ (+203%)
An upward trend can also be observed in deliveries to Sweden (+16% to 37,000 m³) and India (+126% to just under 16,000 m³).
In total, 520,000 m³ of beech logs were exported so far this year, i.e. around 60,000 m³, or 13%, more than in the same period of 2024.
