Main buyer China received 274,000 m³ last year, i.e. 26% more than in 2023. Deliveries to Austria, Germany’s second most important foreign market, increased by 7% to 221,000 m³. Exports to Denmark doubled in 2024 (34,000 m³; +99%). Increases were also recorded in beech log exports to Sweden (31,000 m³; +47%), India (11,000 m³; +90%), Switzerland (7,000 m³; +40%), France (7,000 m³; +36%) and Luxembourg (6,000 m³; +1,673%).
Meanwhile, smaller volumes of beech log wood were sold to Belgium (15,000 m³; -35%), Japan (5,000 m³; -5%) and other countries (13,000 m³; -29%), according to the Federal Statistical Office Destatis.
