The Austrian Timber Industry Association identified a log price index of 158.9% in November 2022, recording a slight increase of 0.4 percentage points compared to October. In November 2021, the index value was at 151.22% and thus around 7.7 points lower than in the same month of this year.

As for lumber, the price index fell by 15,75 percentage points month on month and by 36.66 points year on year, reaching 161.91% in November 2022. As a result of this negative trend, the gap between the price indices of log wood and lumber has nearly closed, with only 3 percentage points separating the two. In November, the lumber price index was still 88.27 points short of the highest index value recorded in August 2021.
