In 2020, Romsilva’s sales totaled €343 million and in the pre-pandemic year of 2019, they had amounted to €342 million, according to key figures of online financial service provider risco.ro. This is 17% less than the approved income and expenditure budget for 2021, although this year’s figures could still increase, according to capital.ro.

The investment budget is €38 million (RON 190 million) for this year and an estimated €42 million (RON 208 million) for 2022. This year, Romsilva invested primarily in the renovation and modernization of forest roads, in machinery and the construction of new and the modernization of existing log storage places.

According to capital.ro, Romsilva plans to gradually increase the share of sawlogs and quality log wood on the market, which is to reach half of overall logging in the State Forests in 2023. In 2021, the Romanian Forestry Directorate introduced the new version of the integrated information system for log tracking, SUMAL 2.0, and created an online platform for timber auctions.
