Spruce log supply is currently very high in Europe, and therefore also in Sweden. The global economy has been showing signs of a cooling down, impacting the finished products market. Spruce log prices are generally declining, Södra continues.

"The timber price adjustments are due to both high supply and external factors, which are having a negative impact on demand and creating market uncertainty," said Olof Hansson, President and CEO of Södra Skog.

Therefore, Södra is lowering its prices for spruce logs by SEK 30/m³sub (€2.8/sm³, bark removed), for softwood pulpwood and fuel wood both by SEK20/m³sub (€1.9/sm³, bark removed).
