New Forestry division in the making

The main focus of this day is on recently purchased forest area in Sweden and setting up a new forestry division. The business division Wood Products will also be presented, including a visit to the new CLT factory in Gruvön/SE. Stora Enso is to publish a report on profits and operating capital for the new corporate division Forestry as well as an investment prognosis of the group for 2020.

As a major player in the bioeconomy, access to wood is critical for us. Taking forest assets under direct ownership gives us more flexibility to optimize our wood supply and operations.

Stora Enso has forest assets worth more than €4.1 bn. (land and biological assets). In Sweden alone, this translates to a forest area of 1.4 million hectares 1 million hectare of which is productive forest land with a standing stock of 143 sm³.
