Pfeifer and Rail Cargo are intensifying their long-lasting collaboration – since March 21st, they have been running a block train with 16 wagons (1000 t roundwood) between Trent and Wörgl once per week for now. The block train is operated by Rail Cargo Carrier Italy, Italian subsidiary of the Rail Cargo Group. As April progresses, another transport is due to be added. According to Herbert Stöckl, Head of Logistics at Pfeifer, this will save up to 9000 truck journeys going over the Brenner Pass.

Currently, the Pfeifer Group is shipping 900,000 t of wood by rail. Martin Mayrhofer, Key Account Manager at Rail Cargo, reports that Rail Cargo is running between 30 and 40 roundwood wagons to Wörgl per day for the Pfeifer factory in Kundl.
