The price increase in the segment of logs in sawn timber quality was particularly strong in Central Sweden where it amounted to 8.4%. In the south of the country, buyers paid 7.5% more on average, in the north, however, the plus only totaled 2.6%.
Costs for pulpwood gained 7.5% in the south, in the north +3.4% and in Central Sweden +2.5%.
Swedish forestry department "Skogsstyrelsen" announced in a press release that the prices for roundwood in sawn timber quality gained 11.3% compared to the same period last year, and for pulpwood 15.6%.
An assessment in terms of volumes showed that harvest volumes in the 3Q dropped 17% compared to the same period last year. This is the lowest harvest volume since 1999.
