German pellet price at €243/t

On August 9, an average pellet price of €243.5/t is reported in Germany. This corresponds to a decrease of 1% month on month and of as many as 36% or €137/t year on year (August 9, 2023: €380.5/t). Three years ago, in 2021, the average German pellet price was €205.6/t. The last time the pellet price was at the current level was on November 8, 2023.

At the end of the second week of August, pellet prices range from €240/t in Bavaria to €267.5/t in Saarland. Apart from Bavaria, heizpellets24.de reports the cheapest pellet prices for the federal states of Thuringia (€242.4/t) and Hesse (€244.6/t), followed by Saxony (€243.6/t) and Brandenburg (€243.8/t). At the other end of the scale (apart from Saarland), buyers pay the highest prices in Hamburg, Bremen and Schleswig-Holstein (€251.5/t in each state) as well as in North Rhine-Westphalia (€250.1/t).

According to heizpellets24.de, wood pellets are still cheapest in greater Munich area (€230/t) and most expensive in the cities of Hamburg, Bremen and Cologne where they cost €251.5/t.
