The wood pellets the US exported in the first three months of this year had a cumulative value of $511 million (€434 million). The United Kingdom alone purchased pellets worth $406 million (€345 million). In 2025, pellet exports had a cumulative value of $471 million (€401 million).
From January to March, the US exported 2.12 million t of pellets to the United Kingdom. That is 29% more than in the same period last year (Q1 2025: 1.64 million t) and corresponds to 79% of total US exports.
According to the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, shipments to Denmark decreased by 18% to 202,000 t (2025: 248,000 t). Japan is the US’s third largest export market and received 133,000 t in the first three months, which corresponds to a 29% decrease compared to 186,000 t that were shipped there last year. Meanwhile, exports to France more than tripled, reaching a total of 96,000 t.
