For the month of July, the German Pellet Institute (DEPI) reports an average pellet price of €281/t for a purchase quantity of 6 t. Compared to June, the pellet price thus fell slightly by €1.4/t or 0.5%. In July 2023, buyers paid €422.5/t.
For a purchase quantity of 26 t, the DEPI reports a price of €265.8/t in July and a month-on-month decrease of €0.8/t or 0.3%. One year ago, 26 t of wood pellets still cost €406.6/t.
At a regional level, the following prices are reported for 6 t of wood pellets: The lowest price, i.e. €275.5/t, is paid in southern Germany. In central Germany, pellets cost €279.9/t and in the north and east of the country, buyers pay €296.6/t. The south is also the cheapest region when it comes to the price of 26 t of pellets.
