€276/t for wood pellets in Germany

In Germany, the price of loose pellets (purchase quantity 6 t) has fallen below the €300/t-mark in all 16 federal states. Since early November, Bavaria reported the lowest pellet prices, while the Hanseatic City of Bremen recorded the highest prices.

On March 13, the average pellet price was at €275.9/t in Germany. Month on month, the price has fallen by 6.5%. Year on year, it was down by 22.3% (March 13, 2023: €354.5/t). Three years ago, during the first year of the coronavirus pandemic, the pellet price was at €206.7/t (+33.5%) in Germany.

Pellet prices are ranging from €255.1/t in Bavaria to €291.8/t in Bremen. In Baden-Württemberg, buyers pay on average €259.5/t, while pellets cost €260.1/t in Thuringia, €265.7/t in Hesse, €269.5/t in Rhineland-Palatinate and €275.7/t in Saxony.

Wood pellets are most expensive in Bremen, followed by Saarland (€284.5/t), Schleswig-Holstein (€283.6/t) and Berlin (€283.6/t).
