In August, prices of sawmill byproducts saw further slight increases in Austria.

Weaker demand for paper and panels as well as from pellet manufacturers was in line with the accumulation of smaller quantities of byproducts in sawmills. In August, the Holzkurier identified an increase of 30 cents per stere in sawdust prices, which now range from €19.3 to €21.2/st. Wood chips cost €16.2 to €19.2/st, i.e. 10 cents per stere more than in July.
