Austrian pellet price with the sharpest fall

In February, the neutral pellet prices continued to fall in the DACH region. The biggest relative decrease was recorded in Austria. In Germany, pellet prices are below the €300-mark, while buyers still have to pay more than €400 per ton in Switzerland.

In Germany, the neutral pellet price (without VAT, transport and handling costs) is at €269.9/t in February, and has thus decreased by €49.5/t compared January. Compared to February 2022, however, wood pellets still cost €38.4/t more in Germany.

In Austria, buyers pay €327.2/t for wood pellets in February, i.e. €58.9/t less than in the month before. One year ago, pellets cost €231.8/t.

In Switzerland, the neutral pellet price is at €406.7/t this month, down by €16.2 compared to January but up by €121/t compared to January 2022. The ten-year average price, which is less affected by fluctuations of the currency exchange rate, fell by €9.9/t month on month to €366.4/t.
