Pellet prices continue to rise

In February, the neutral pellet prices in the DACH region (VAT excluded, without transport and handling costs) are continuing their upward trend which began in the summer of 2021. In Austria, the pellet price have risen by 2.9% compared to January and by 33% compared to February 2021, reaching €231.8 per tonne.

In Germany, the year-on-year comparison shows an even more substantial increase. Compared to February 2021, pellets cost 59% more, that is €258.5 per tonne. Month on month, the price is up by 2%.

In Switzerland, the pellet price saw a 6% increase compared to January and 32% rise compared to last year, bringing it to €285.7 per tonne. The ten-year average neutral price, which is less affected by changing currency exchange rates, reached €262.7 per tonne in February.
