Pellets prices continue to rise

In August, neutralized pellets prices (VAT, transport and handling fees excluded) continue to rise in the DACH region. Prices grew the least in Austria.

Compared to the previous month, the Austrian pellets price slightly rose by 0.1 €/t to 173.2 €/t in August. Compared to the same month of last year, however, prices grew by 2.6 €/t.

In Germany, pellets are 1.3 €/t more expensive in August than in July with the price reaching 163.8 €/t. Compared to the same period of 2018, there has been a slight increase of 0.8 €/t.

A more marked increase has been reported in Switzerland where, compared to July, the pellets price rose by 3.8 €/t to 211.4 €/t. Compared to August 2018, it went up by 11.1 €/t. Taking into consideration the average euro/franc exchange rate of the last ten years, pellets cost 194.6 €/t in Switzerland (July: 193.2 €/t).
