Pellet price at €289/m³ in Germany

In April, one tonne of wood pellets costs on average €288.8 in Germany. In March, the price was at €296.2/t (-2.5%) and in April 2023, buyers paid €350.9/t (-18%). One kilowatt-hour of heat from pellets currently costs 5.78 cents, according to the German Pellets Institute (DEPI).

At a regional level, the DEPI reports the following differences in the price for a purchase quantity of six tonnes. In southern Germany, buyers pay €280.6/t in April. In central Germany, the price is at €289/t. In the north and east of the country, six tonnes of pellets cost €296.5/t. For 26 tonnes of wood pellets, buyers pay €265.3/t in southern Germany, €273.9/t in central Germany and €278.3/t in the north and east of the country.
