Pellets prices are converging

Article by Fabian Pöschel, translated by Susanne Höfler | 04.12.2018 - 14:09

In November, neutralized pellets prices - i.e. prices excluding VAT, transportation and handling fees - of all three DACH countries were relatively higher than what is seasonally normal compared to the same period last year. While the price per metric ton in Switzerland (based on the exchange rate of mid-November) was €208.5 (€+4/t; +2%), Austria yielded €182.3 (€+7.6/t; +4.4%) and Germany €174.8 (€+10.8/t; +6.6%).

Looking at the ten-year average exchange rate of the Swiss franc, the difference easily marginalizes. In November, the price per metric ton was €195/t which in comparison to the same period last year is an increase of €7/t (+3.7%).
