The purchase price index (spruce/fir, KD; 100% = average value from 2014) fell by another 3.5% month on month to 103.7% in July. Year on year, a decrease of 28% was recorded.
The sales price indices (spruce/fir; non-visible quality) for bar and list goods sold to timber trade fell by less than 1% compared to June, reaching 103% and 105%, respectively. Compared to July 2022, the index values saw a 25% decrease.
When it comes to sales to direct buyers, there has been an inversion of trend in July. The sales price index for solid structural timber bars rose by 2.7% to 105%, while that of list goods increased by 3.3% to 108.3%. Year on year, both have decreased by around 25%.
Assessments regarding the business situation were slightly more positive in July than they had been in June. 18% of the manufacturers described it as good, while 55% of the respondents reported a satisfactory and 27% a bad business situation.
